The year 2010 was the last year of the national “11th Five-Year” Plan as well as the final year of our first Medium-term Business Plan—the Leap Plan. Since the beginning of 2010, Chinese auto market has shown a trend of rapid growth as the previous year and remained a strong demand on the whole. DongFeng Motor Corporation (“DFM” or the “Company”), as an extremely large state-owned enterprise, thoroughly implemented the scientific concept of development by seizing the opportunities to make vigorous progress, comprehensively promoted the business progress of “Three Leaps, One Harmony” and maintained good momentum of sound and rapid development with a volume of 2.6 million vehicles, and drew a satisfactory conclusion for the “11th Five-Year” development for the Company. DFM sold 2.62 million units in 2010, achieved annual sales revenue of RMB 345.1 billion Yuan and hit a new high in profits, which played a positive role in promoting the steady and rapid development of national economy.
In 2010, DFM actively promoted the development of its own-brand and alternative fuel vehicles, achieved new results in independent innovation, radiated new vitality in our old bases, made new progress in development of new businesses, and showed a new situation in coordinated development of all undertakings and all fronts. During this year, the Company actively fulfilled its social responsibilities, achieved new high in tax payment, and accelerated the pace of local social economic development more vigorously; the employees and the enterprise grew together, the labor relations became more harmonious; the enterprise completed energy-saving and emission reduction tasks successfully, actively assisted disaster area and poverty-stricken area, and further demonstrated the trusted corporate citizen image.
The year 2011 is the first year of the “12th Five-Year Plan” and also a year with complex and volatile situation. The overall macroeconomic environment, market environment and policy environment will be tightened while maintaining stability, and the challenging factors faced by auto industry will increase. The “12th Five-Year” is another critical historical period in the development of DFM, which is of vital significance for the Company’s steady and rapid development. Looking ahead, the Company will continue to seize the opportunity of stable growth of national economy and rapid development of Chinese auto market, highlight the theme of scientific development and the transformation of development mode, focus on building and independent brand development, deepen reform, strengthen management, speed up harmonious Dongfeng construction, strive to maintain high quality growth of business, continue to regard the corporate social and environment responsibilities as an important part of the business development, strive to make a good beginning in its “12th Five-Year” development, and make new contributions to promote the development of Chinese auto industry and realize the harmonious development between human and nature.
